Job Position: Part-time Assistant Coach—Track & Field
Northern State University is accepting applications for the Assistant Track & Field coaching position. This is a part-time position with a salary range of $20,000 – $22,000 and will be a 12-month appointment.
This individual will be responsible for coaching jumps (Long Jump & Triple Jump) and assisting the Sprints/Hurdles/Multi-Event group and ensuring that the team performs at its best during competitions. The assistant coach will be evaluated based on the competitiveness of the program, the dedication to the mission, vision, and values of the program, overall student-athlete development in sport, school, and life, and for establishing a subculture in which the coach is viewed by the student-athletes as a mentor, educator, and role model.
Overall, the assistant coach is an integral part of the coaching staff and will contribute significantly to the success of the Track & Field program. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, a deep knowledge of track and field coaching strategies and techniques, decision-making, a commitment to compliance with all NCAA, NSIC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to academic development of student-athletes. Other additional duties may be assigned the Head Coach.
