Adjunct Instructor – American Sign Language (ASL)
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Dakota invites applications for a part‑time Adjunct Instructor to teach American Sign Language (ASL) courses.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate ASL courses, which may be offered in an online synchronous format. Instruction emphasizes immersive ASL use and Deaf culture. Additional responsibilities include course preparation, student assessment, and adherence to departmental and university policies.

Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to teach ASL using an immersive, visually based approach
- Effective communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience in ASL at the secondary or post‑secondary level
- Degree in ASL, Sign Language Education, Deaf Studies, or a related field
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses

This is a temporary, adjunct appointment. Course assignments are made on a semester‑by‑semester basis and are contingent upon enrollment and departmental needs.
