South Central Equipment — Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanic
South Central Equipment is looking for a highly experienced diesel / heavy equipment mechanic to join our crew. This is a hands-on, production shop role for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up ready to get after it, and can be trusted to handle complex repairs with minimal supervision.
We operate a busy shop environment where reliability, efficiency, and craftsmanship matter. The right candidate will be self-motivated, accountable, and capable of keeping equipment moving safely and on schedule—even when working independently.
Because ownership operates remotely at times, this position requires a high level of integrity, good judgment, and the ability to stay on task without constant oversight.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic
- Proven ability to rebuild engines, transmissions, and major components (component-level work; not limited to basic R&R)
- Ability to work independently with very little supervision
- Strong work ethic and commitment to completing jobs on schedule
- High degree of reliability, professionalism, and accountability
- Clean driving record
- Must have own tools
Preferred (But Not Required):
- CDL
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to operate heavy equipment
- Mining or remote operations experience
