Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and team-oriented Kitchen Assistant to support daily food service operations at our Rural Crisis Center in Covington County, that will be moving to Brantley, AL in Crenshaw County. This position plays an important role within our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model by helping provide nutritious meals and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment for individuals receiving crisis services. The Kitchen Assistant helps support the overall therapeutic setting by assisting with meal preparation, sanitation, and daily kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to assist with cooking, cleaning, and maintaining an organized kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, and stoop as required
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous food service or healthcare facility experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal preparation and food service for individuals receiving services within the Rural Crisis Center
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
- Support inventory management by stocking supplies and assisting with monitoring kitchen materials
- Help ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely and safe manner
- Maintain a structured, clean, and therapeutic environment that supports recovery and stabilization
- Work collaboratively with staff to support the overall care and well-being of individuals in crisis
- Follow health, safety, and agency standards within the CCBHC care environment
