Job Responsibilities

Table Rock State Park fits the bill for the natural beauty attributed to scenic Highway 11. The towering mountain, which gives the park its name, serves as a backdrop for the 3,000 acre park and its facilities. Below this section of the Blue Ridge Mountains, South Carolina natives and visitors can enjoy Table Rock State Park cabins , a campground and an old-fashioned swimming hole on one of the park’s two lakes.

Job Purpose And Duties

Assists with overall operation and maintenance of a State Park. Performs diversified duties as governed by general instruction, policies and standard operating procedures of the Department. Assumes the responsibilities of the Park Manager in the absence of higher-level employees.

• Collect and account for revenue and produce required reports.
• Assists in inventories by issue, use of counts; completes data reports.
• Instruct, supervise, and perform routine and preventative maintenance on grounds, buildings, and equipment to meet established standards.
• Assists with the administrative activities to include, but not limited to, receiving and documenting revenues, preparing reports and making payments in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Manages assigned specific operations to include public use areas, Admissions Stations and Campground Store facilities.
• Interprets and natural and cultural resources of Table Rock State Park and the State Park Service to park visitors.
• Employee will be required to live in designated park housing to provide security, safety, and emergency response.
• Practice and promote teamwork within the State Park Service, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.
  
  

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Associate's degree in Park Management or related field with (1) year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements

• Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other material used in maintaining park facilities and grounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License.

Actual Job Location: Table Rock State Park

Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
