Job Responsibilities
The office directs an integrated marketing program that includes an annual domestic leisure tourism advertising plan, inquiry and fulfillment, the state’s leisure website (DiscoverSouthCarolina.com) and social media platforms, operates nine state welcome centers, and offers a tourism advertising grant program. Additionally, the office directs an integrated international sales and marketing program that attracts visitors from Canada, the United Kingdom, German-speaking countries, France, Italy and Brazil. The office also manages a robust public relations program that works to garner domestic and international media exposure for the state’s destinations, attractions and events.
Job Purpose And Duties
Manages centralized financial operational processes for the Tourism Sales and Marketing Department (TS&M). Assist other sections of the agency with administrative and operational needs, as requested. Oversees the visitor services uniform contract. Is responsible for the management and tracking of statewide purchasing and procurement practices for the TS&M Department. Oversees record-keeping and form submission for procurement. Assists with project management budget related functions. Works with the marketing team to procure services and items and administers each purchase from beginning to end, tracking and providing status updates throughout the process.
Associate's Degree or two years of related administrative experience. Ability to communicate with both executive personnel and the general public. Knowledge of South Carolina Procurement Codes is preferred.

- Manages the Purchase Order request, submission and approval process for TS&M. Issues SCEIS shopping carts with accuracy and in compliance with state and agency requirements and authorization.
- Manages financial reports for the Department.
- Remains current on South Carolina Procurement Codes and applicable laws and regulations. Identifies and attends training as needed. Ensures codes are followed within the department.
- Processes and tracks all invoices from the advertising agency of record.
- Works with the Visitor Services Operations Manager to oversee the Welcome Center program uniform contract and other major purchases such as DSC merchandise and surcees.
- Practice and promote teamwork within the work unit/office, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.

- Ability to coordinate and track financial tasks and activities in multiple areas of complex responsibility. Ability to acquire a general understanding of the operational and fiscal areas of the Marketing Department. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and summarize detailed financial information. Ability to efficiently navigate the agency's computer programs, financial tracking programs, and operate various office equipment.
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
