Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations.

- Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail; processes outgoing mail.
- Coordinates agency postal services.
- Supervises employees engaged in mail handling tasks.
- Maintains records of insured and registered mail; maintains billing records.
- Requires knowledge of Policies, regulations and procedures for handling mail, knowledge of filing systems and the maintenance of office records.
- Also requires use of postal meters and scales.
- Corresponding detailed records; reports transactions to SCDC financial accounting branch.
- Ensures Inmate legal mail is received and distributed in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Assists with coordinating postage meter maintenance and replenishment and postage meter monthly summary reports.
- Performs mailroom duties in the absence of the postal director

- An associate's degree or higher may be substituted for the required work experience.
