Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.

- Coordinates all activities between the United States postal service (USPS) and the institution.
- Delivers and picks up all mail.
- Receives USPS and united parcel service (ups) packages and coordinate delivery to the institutional property officer.
- The postal center director actively directs and supervises the inspection of all mail for contraband.
- Maintains and interprets SCDC policies and USPS regulations concerning mail in an institutional environment.
- Maintains records of money instruments received and/or returned.
- Coordinates activities of E. H Cooper trust fund.
- Research records for the location of inmates in an effort to handle the mail properly.
- Actively direct and supervises the receiving and distribution of USPS and department mail.
- Actively directs and supervises the activities of both incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Plans and schedules work assignments and employee training.

SCDC Minimum Requirements
- A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations with one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- An associate degree or higher with one (1) year of supervisory experience may be substituted for the required work experience.
