Position Summary
SourceOne Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Permitting Design Clerk to support our Engineering and Operations team. This position is responsible for preparing permit drawings, compiling permit packages, coordinating documentation requirements, and submitting applications to municipalities, utility companies, and government agencies.The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring permit applications are accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop permit drawings and supporting documentation for utility and telecommunications projects.
- Compile complete permit application packages for municipal, county, state, and utility review.
- Review project plans, maps, and engineering documents to ensure permit requirements are met.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel to gather required information.
- Track permit submissions and approvals through various municipal and agency systems.
- Maintain accurate permit logs, records, and project documentation.
- Respond to municipality requests for additional information and revisions.
- Monitor permit status and proactively follow up with permitting agencies to prevent project delays.
- Assist with project scheduling by providing permit status updates to management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and utility permitting standards and regulations.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience in utility, telecommunications, engineering, construction, or permitting environments.
- Familiarity with municipal permitting processes.
- Experience reading construction plans, utility drawings, or engineering designs.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, or similar design software.
- Experience working with AT&T, telecommunications infrastructure, or utility permitting processes.
