At SourceAmerica, we are committed to serving as a connector for people with disabilities and veterans. We are currently recruiting talent on behalf of one of our nonprofit agency partners who has a Supportive Employment Specialist position.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures
- Advocate for the health & wellbeing of all program consumers
- Report any unsafe or hazardous condition immediately
- Report any suspected neglect or abuse immediately
- Complete required training hours
- Work hours as stated on the Job Description
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Be responsible for job development & job placement
- Plan and implement job specific skill training
- Assess areas of need and interest for assigned consumers
- Provide assistance/training/supervision to assist the consumer in adapting to the workplace
- Provide job counseling to assigned consumers
- Assist with job related transportation arrangements
- Actively market this service in a professional manner
- Complete Community Based Work Assessments
- Receive referrals from OVR, SAM and Ticket to Work; and keep OVR, other funding sources and Ticket to Work updated on progress of placements, monthly.
- Visit Career Link on a regular basis to keep informed of job vacancies, Job Fairs, etc.
- Meet with each client at least client bi-monthly.
- Provide follow-up to individuals who have been placed into competitive job.
- Prepare and submit billing for Supported Employment to the appropriate agencies.
- Provide assistance with Home and Community Habilitation scheduling and paperwork when necessary.
- Travel between programs & other organizations on an as needed basis or directed by supervisor/manager
- Work with local school districts related to school to work transition activities
- Participate in the Transition Council, Employability Fair and Transition Fair
- Conduct student assessments and inform families/parents about Avenue's services
- Refer students to SAM or OVR whichever agency is appropriate
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Acceptable results on all pre-employment testing and background checks
- The ability to comply with all physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
- A valid PA Driver's License, acceptable driving record and access to a reliable vehicle
- A bachelor’s degree & 2 years applicable work experience or a High School Diploma or GED & 4 years of Applicable work experience or any equivalent combination of education & experience.

PAY: $18 per hour
LOCATION: 1755 West Market Street, Pottsville, PA 17901
HOURS: 8AM – 4PM, Monday - Friday
STATUS: FT 37.5 hours per week
