What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accessibility Intern position at SourceAmerica?
Who We Are ...
SourceAmerica is searching for Accessibility Interns to work with our AbilityOne Programs. Accessibility Interns will work on projects designated by the accessibility team to create accessible documents. Projects will include remediating PDFs, PowerPoints, and Word documents Additionally interns will design and create accessible samples based on source documents for their personal portfolio.
What You Will Do ...
• Review and remediate PDFs and other documents for barriers to usability and accessibility.
• Assist with the creation of internal and external document templates.
• Openness to learning document accessibility software such as Colour Contrast Analyzer and Commonlook PDF.
• Actively participate in SourceAmerica’s Everyday Performance Management program.
• Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Salary Range
The salary for this position falls in a range between $20.00 - $25.00 depending on your experience and geographic location in the United States.
What You Must Have ...
• Completed the LaunchIT (Information Technology) program course.
Preferred Bonus
• Studying for the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Concepts
Other Requirements
• Ability to effectively collaborate with individuals and teams across a 400 organization with a national footprint
• Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Capable of working independently and solving problems under time pressure
• Commitment to fulfilling SourceAmerica’s mission, vision, and values

Work Environment
Our organization offers both a hybrid work model—where employees work in our office two to three days per week and work from home the balance of the workweek—as well as a fully remote work model, depending on the job requirements and one’s proximity to one of our offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, or the Washington, DC-area.
