About the Role
The VP of M&A will sit at the center of the company's growth strategy, sourcing and executing M&A for this NYC-based firm. You will support the deal process from initial sourcing through close and play a meaningful role in post-close integration. This is a high-impact, high-visibility seat at a platform actively doing deals, with a direct reporting line and apprenticeship with the CEO, a clear path to CFO, and equity participation with room to grow as the platform scales toward its next phase.
Responsibilities include
- Sourcing deals: Build and maintain a proprietary deal pipeline, targeting businesses that range across core and adjacent verticals.
- Cultivate relationships with business owners, brokers, and intermediaries to drive consistent deal flow.
- Lead due diligence including financial analysis, revenue quality reviews, and QofE and legal coordination.
- Own financial models and valuation analyses that support go/no-go decisions.
- Manage deal timelines and workstreams through close alongside the CEO.
- Support post-close integration, coordinating across the executive team to ensure smooth transitions.
- Lead FP&A across the full platform, partnering closely with the broader finance and admin team.
Professional Experience & Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
- Hands-on experience across the full deal lifecycle - sourcing, diligence, modeling, and close.
- Strong financial modeling skills with advanced Excel proficiency; PowerPoint a plus.
- High executive presence with the ability to represent the company credibly to business owners and external partners.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action; comfortable with ambiguity and a lean team environment.
- Bachelor's degree required.
