Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Schedule: Part-time | Evening shift | 32 hours per week
Position Overview
A regional medical center in Alaska is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support diagnostic testing services during evening hours. This role is responsible for performing accurate, timely, and efficient laboratory analyses that support the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions.
The Medical Laboratory Scientist applies technical expertise across laboratory disciplines, ensures quality and safety standards are met, and contributes to reliable clinical decision-making for patients and care teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced laboratory testing on patient specimens in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure accuracy, precision, and timeliness of test results to support patient care
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
- Apply quality control and quality assurance practices to maintain compliance with laboratory standards
- Provide technical support and expertise to clinical teams and affiliated healthcare partners
- Adhere to safety, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific discipline
- OR
- Bachelor’s-level education in a chemical, biological, or physical science combined with sufficient clinical laboratory training to meet national certification eligibility
- Eligibility for, and attainment within one year of hire, national certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist through a recognized accrediting organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT, AAB)
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $35.66 – $55.37, based on experience, credentials, and other qualifying factors
- Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, overtime, or premium pay programs
