Director, Insights & Innovation – Trial Analytics, Insights & Planning | Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences
A leading global pharmaceutical and life sciences organisation is seeking a Director, Insights & Innovation to lead the development and evolution of advanced analytics, data science and AI-enabled decision-support capabilities across the clinical trial lifecycle.
This senior role will bridge portfolio analytics, applied data science, data governance and analytics product management, helping ensure that insights supporting trial design, feasibility, site selection, enrollment forecasting and execution are scalable, explainable and decision-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap for advanced, automated, predictive and AI-enabled analytics capabilities across the clinical trial lifecycle
- Define priority use cases, maturity stages and value realisation in partnership with business, technology and data science teams
- Govern analytical methodologies across feasibility, site selection, enrollment forecasting and portfolio insights
- Provide business ownership for enterprise analytics products and platforms, ensuring solutions are scalable, reusable and aligned with business needs
- Shape the responsible application of predictive modelling, simulation, machine learning and AI to support clinical trial and portfolio decisions
- Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, decision-ready insights for senior leadership
- Provide challenge around the appropriate use, interpretation and limitations of analytical outputs
- Partner with clinical operations, biostatistics, data governance and other stakeholders to align methodologies and analytical standards
- Mentor analysts and strategists while promoting strong analytical judgement, transparency and methodological rigour
- Drive adoption of new systems, methodologies and reporting processes across a global organisation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA, MSc or PhD preferred
- 10 years of experience across clinical development, trial analytics, biostatistics, data governance, advanced analytics or management consulting
- Experience working with data science, advanced analytics or AI-enabled solutions
- Ability to translate complex business questions into analytically tractable problems
- Experience governing analytics platforms, tools or data products in regulated or high-risk environments
- Strong understanding of predictive modelling, simulation and/or machine learning
- Experience bridging business requirements with technology and data science teams
- Proven ability to drive adoption of new systems, methodologies or reporting processes across large organisations
- Experience with enterprise clinical analytics systems and platforms
- Excellent communication, documentation and decision-framing skills
- Proven leadership experience with senior stakeholders and global cross-functional teams
Location: Princeton, New Jersey, USA; Uxbridge, UK; Warsaw, Poland; or Boudry, Switzerland
Salary: $200,980 – $243,544 per year for the Princeton, NJ location
