Data Engineer – Data Engineering & Analytics
Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Data Engineer to support enterprise Data Engineering and Analytics initiatives. This role focuses on designing and delivering scalable data solutions that drive digital transformation and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include building data pipelines, data marts, and data warehouse solutions while enabling reliable, high-quality data for business intelligence and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines to process data from multiple sources.
- Build and optimize batch and streaming data solutions.
- Develop and maintain data marts and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Implement data quality standards and monitoring to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Support data modeling standards, processes, and best practices.
- Document data flows, database designs, and technical architecture.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and emerging data patterns.
- Partner with Data Architects, Data Analysts, and BI Developers to deliver scalable analytics solutions.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance for large-scale data processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- 8 years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, and database design.
- 5 years of experience with ELT methodologies and tools.
- 5 years of experience designing, developing, tuning, and troubleshooting SQL.
- 3 years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- 2 years of experience using Apache Spark.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica IDMC.
- Experience with modern data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake and Vertica.
- Strong understanding of financial and investment data.
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of Investment Management operations, including:
- Security Master data
- Securities trading and reconciliation
- Reference data management
- Pricing data
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements within Investment Management.
- Experience with investment platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin, CRD, Eagle STAR (ABOR), Eagle PACE, and Eagle DataMart.
- Familiarity with investment data platforms including GoldenSource, FINBOURNE, NeoXam, RIMES, and JPM Fusion.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively without direct authority.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
