Job Position: Part Time Paraprofessionals
Location: Innovative Arts Academy
Pay Rate: $15.08 per hour
Shift: Monday through Friday 6:50 AM to 2:30 PM
Description: SOS Group is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Paraprofessional/Hall Monitor. This unique role combines the responsibilities of supporting educational activities within the classroom as a paraprofessional while also ensuring the safety and security of our school's hallways and common areas as a hall monitor. Key Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, including but not limited to preparing materials, supervising students, and providing one-on-one support as needed.
Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions for students with diverse learning needs.
Supervise students during non-instructional periods, such as recess, lunchtime, and transition times between classes.
Monitor hallways, entrances, and other common areas to maintain a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning.
Enforce school policies and procedures regarding student behavior, attendance, and safety.
Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies that may arise, following established protocols and ensuring appropriate documentation.
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians to support the overall well-being of the school community.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Basic knowledge of child development, educational principles, and behavior management strategies.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Willingness to undergo a background check and any additional screenings required for employment in a school setting.
