Job Position: Food Service Specialist
Location: Lancaster County Career & Technology Center (LCCTC)
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr
Shift: M-F 6:30am - 2:30pm
Description:
SOS Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Service Specialist to support food service operations across three campuses. This full-time, year-round role plays a vital part in ensuring our food service program runs smoothly while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety, and compliance.
The Food Service Specialist will assist the Food Service Director and on-campus food service staff with responsibilities ranging from cashiering, cold food preparation, and serving, to handling production records, training, and inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and distribute annual lunch information and temporary student lunch badges.
Enter and update daily production records using PrimeroEdge and Excel.
Assist with campus inventory and maintain accurate records in tracking systems.
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student lunch accounts and balances.
Train new staff in cashiering, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
Assist with free/reduced lunch application processing and audits/reviews.
Support daily food service operations, including cashiering, food prep, serving, and cleaning.
Skills & Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: 3–5 years in food service or a related field.
Certifications: ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain) and valid driver’s license required.
Technical Skills:
Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience with PrimeroEdge or similar point-of-sale/production software preferred.
Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment.
Personal Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Position Requirements
Ability to travel between three campuses weekly.
Must be able to stand, move about, and lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
Completion of yearly PA Department of Education food service training.
