Talent Acquisition Specialist
The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays an important role in supporting the organization’s hiring needs by identifying, attracting, and engaging qualified candidates. This position supports the full recruitment lifecycle, from job requisition through offer acceptance, while providing positive and professional experience for candidates and hiring managers.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager, hiring managers, and Human Resources team to understand staffing needs, source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support an efficient and consistent recruitment process. This position will also have a focus on production, hourly, and entry-level recruiting needs while also supporting professional and specialized positions as needed. This position is ideal for an individual looking to grow their career in talent acquisition and develop experience recruiting for a variety of positions across the organization.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Talent Acquisition:
a) Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and execute effective recruitment strategies.
b) Assist with creating and updating job descriptions and managing job requisitions and postings on appropriate job boards, social media platforms, and the company website.
c) Utilize various sourcing techniques to identify and engage active and passive candidates, including job boards, social media, professional networks, employee referrals, community resources, schools, and other appropriate sources.
d) Manage and support full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions.
e) Support recruiting efforts for new locations and other staffing initiatives as needed.
2. Candidate Screening and Evaluation:
a) Review applications and resumes to identify candidates who meet position qualifications.
b) Conduct phone screens and initial interviews to assess candidate qualifications, experience, interests, and overall alignment with position requirements.
c) Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring teams, ensuring a smooth and professional interview process.
d) Assist with assessments, reference checks, background checks, and other applicable pre-employment activities as needed.
e) Provide timely candidate information and interview feedback to the Talent Acquisition Manager and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
3. Hiring Manager and Candidate Management:
a) Build positive working relationships with hiring managers and provide ongoing recruitment support throughout the hiring process.
b) Maintain open, timely, and professional communication with candidates throughout all stages of the recruitment process.
c) Respond to candidate inquiries and provide appropriate updates regarding interview status and next steps.
d) Assist with preparing and extending offers of employment and coordinating offer-related communication when needed.
e) Support a positive candidate experience from initial contact through offer acceptance and transition to the Human Resources onboarding process.
4. Compliance and Record-Keeping:
a) Follow established recruitment processes, company policies, and applicable employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.
b) Ensure appropriate recruitment documentation is completed and maintained throughout the hiring process.
c) Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, and recruiting information within the applicant tracking system and other recruiting tools.
d) Assist with recruitment reporting and administrative activities as needed.
e) Assist with the development and maintenance of recruiting procedures, templates, resources, and process improvements.
5. Recruiting Events and Partnerships
a) Participate in career fairs, hiring events, open interviews, school and community events, and other recruiting activities as needed.
b) Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with schools, workforce organizations, community partners, and other candidate sources.
c) Coordinate with temporary staffing agencies and other recruiting partners as assigned.
6. Other Responsibilities
a) Support talent acquisition initiatives and projects assigned by the Talent Acquisition Manager.
b) Provide recruiting support across business segments and company locations based on organizational priorities and staffing needs.
c) Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
2. 1-3 years of experience in talent acquisition, corporate recruitment, Human Resources or a similar role, with a track record of successfully filling a variety of positions.
3. Strong understanding of recruitment techniques, sourcing strategies, and candidate assessment methods.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
6. Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
7. Experience with recruitment metrics and data analysis is a plus.
8. Knowledge of employment laws and regulations relevant to recruitment.
9. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recruiting records and confidential information.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
3. Occasional travel may be required to company locations, career fairs, hiring events, schools, or other recruiting activities.
