Director of Collections

Soni is partnering with a company seeking a highly confident and experienced Director of Collections to oversee collections operations for a fast-expanding healthcare organization. This leader will manage high-level collections functions, collaborate with a multi-layered revenue cycle team, and implement process improvements to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves working with data, and is comfortable handling challenging conversations while driving measurable results.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and guide the collections team across multiple locations
• Review collections performance, identify issues, and implement solutions
• Analyze revenue trends and present findings to senior leadership
• Support full-cycle medical billing and partner with internal RCM leaders
• Improve workflows, processes, and team productivity
• Resolve escalated payer and reimbursement issues
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and state requirements
• Support the organization’s continued expansion by strengthening back-office operations
• Build strong working relationships with directors, managers, and cross-functional teams
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• 7 years of medical collections or revenue cycle experience
• Prior leadership experience managing multi-layered teams
• Strong confidence in communication and ability to handle tough conversations
• Experience with medical billing, reimbursement, and payer requirements
• Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with financial and operational data
• Tech-savvy: EMR/EHR experience, Excel/Google Sheets, and collaboration tools
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with out-of-network billing
• Familiarity with New Jersey workers comp and state regulations
• Experience within orthopedic, pain management, or surgical practices
• Background improving systems such as CareCloud or similar EMRs
  
  
  

Compensation: $140,000 - $170,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
