We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Collections Specialist to support our accounts receivable and collections efforts. In this role, you will communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances, process payments, and help maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring timely collection of accounts.

Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers via phone, email, or mail regarding past-due accounts
- Review customer accounts to identify outstanding balances
- Negotiate payment arrangements within company guidelines
- Process payments and update account information accurately
- Maintain detailed records of collection activities and customer communications
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing and payment issues
- Escalate unresolved or complex accounts to senior collections staff or management
- Comply with company policies and applicable collection laws and regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams such as accounting, customer service, and sales
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 0–2 years of experience in customer service, collections, or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, courteous, and confident phone presence
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar software
- Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounts receivable or billing systems
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Familiarity with FDCPA or other collections regulations (training provided)
Compensation: $22 to $24 an hour
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
