The AV Tech is responsible for providing technical support for meetings, presentations, and collaboration technologies while ensuring a high level of service for end users. This role actively participates in maintaining and improving the quality, reliability, and responsiveness of audio-visual and collaboration support across assigned office locations.
Reporting to the Manager of Collaboration Services, this individual will serve as a key resource for conference room technology, video conferencing, live events, and end-user collaboration support.
Key Responsibilities
Audio-Visual & Collaboration Support
- Set up, install, operate, test, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment and collaboration technologies, including Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and Cisco conferencing solutions.
- Configure and support equipment used for live events, town halls, webinars, presentations, and executive meetings, including laptops, projectors, screens, microphones, and related peripherals.
- Operate and support sound systems, conference room lighting, and presentation technologies.
- Perform sound checks, pre-event testing, video conference dry runs, and resolve technical issues before and during meetings.
- Provide on-site and standby support for video conferences, client meetings, and special events.
- Administer room scheduling software, generate usage reports, and ensure meeting requirements are accurately captured.
- Manage and track AV-related incidents and vendor support tickets through resolution.
Technology Support & Operations
- Respond to conference room and meeting technology support requests, troubleshooting issues using established support processes and tools.
- Maintain inventory of conference room technology, AV equipment, chargers, adapters, batteries, presentation devices, and related supplies.
- Ensure operational availability of collaboration technologies and related IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, printers, telephony systems, network infrastructure, and audio-visual systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine testing of conference room and AV equipment.
- Serve as a second-level technical resource for complex technology issues and provide guidance to local IT support teams.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of collaboration technologies and meeting room solutions.
Team Collaboration & Project Support
- Adhere to departmental policies, standards, operational procedures, and service-level expectations.
- Promote collaboration and teamwork across local, regional, and global IT teams.
- Participate in technology projects related to collaboration platforms, conference room upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Assist with documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of technical support and/or audio-visual support experience.
- Experience supporting users in a professional services, corporate, or client-facing environment.
- Experience supporting Zoom, Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams, and related collaboration platforms.
- Experience with Cisco video conferencing technologies preferred.
- Experience supporting audio-visual technologies including Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience troubleshooting conference room technology, presentation systems, and video conferencing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting executive-level meetings and client-facing events.
- Experience working in a professional services environment.
- Familiarity with conference room scheduling and resource management platforms.
- Knowledge of IT service management processes and ticketing systems.
