Compliance & Risk Specialist
The Compliance & Rish Specialist provides a full range of support relating to the Bank’s compliance management system (CMS), financial crime monitoring programs and enterprise risk activities. Responsibilities include reviewing alerts generated by the Bank’s monitoring systems, preparing currency transaction reports, reviewing customer accounts against government watch lists and assisting the maintenance of open issues/corrective actions. This position is also responsible for supporting the Bank’s fraud risk management program, supporting regulatory exams and audits, supporting risk management documentation and monitoring tools as well as providing support to the Security Officer for the administration of physical security and access controls. This is primarily an on-site position located at our corporate office in Solvay, NY.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ banking experience, superior attention to detail, strong analytical skills, knowledge of consumer banking laws including BSA/AML/OFAC/USA Patriot Act, strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. An associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Compliance & Risk Specialist AVP, Assistant Enterprise Risk Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Provide a full range of support relating to the Bank’s compliance management system (CMS), financial crime monitoring programs, and enterprise risk activities.
JOB RESPONSBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and manage the Bank’s consumer compliance programs, including fair Review and disposition AML monitoring alerts generated by the Bank’s monitoring systems. This includes conducting research, documenting investigative steps, and escalating alerts for further review, if necessary.
- Prepare currency transaction reports based on transaction data and ensure completeness and accuracy of report documentation prior to filing.
- Support the preparation of documentation used in suspicious activity filings.
- Ensure the review of customer accounts against government watch lists.
- Support the Bank’s fraud risk management program through monitoring and documentation activities. This includes reviewing and dispositioning or escalating fraud alerts generated through internal monitoring systems.
- Assist with administration and monitoring activities supporting the Bank’s CMS, including research requests, marketing reviews, compliance monitoring reviews, and regulatory tracking.
- Support regulatory examination and audit preparation by organizing documentation requests and general assistance during engagements.
- Assist with the maintenance of open issues and corrective actions.
- Support the Bank’s risk management documentation and monitoring tools. This includes updating risk assessments and supporting the preparation of risk reporting.
- Assist the Security Officer with administration of physical security and access control processes.
NECESSARY SKILLS:
- Knowledge of consumer banking laws, security procedures, in addition to BSA/AML/OFAC/USA Patriot Act.
- Knowledge and understanding of investigations, including strong systems knowledge.
- Ability to deal effectively with all types of people and situations.
- Knowledge and understanding of and bank products.
- Ability to work independently and within guidelines and practices, while at the same time being a team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite that includes Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Must be detail oriented and demonstrate strong organizational, research, analytical and communications skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least two years in banking preferred.
- Knowledge of consumer banking laws, including BSA/AML/OFAC regulations is required.
- Associates degree or equivalent 2 years appropriate related experience.
