Lotus Billing is a specialized revenue cycle management partner serving substance use disorder (SUD) and behavioral health treatment providers. We handle the full billing lifecycle for our client facilities so they can focus on patient care.
Position Summary
We’re hiring a Biller to handle clean, accurate, and timely claim submission for SUD treatment services. You’ll be responsible for getting claims out the door correctly the first time — directly impacting how quickly our clients get paid. We’re open to all experience levels; if you have a sharp eye for detail and want to grow in behavioral health billing, we want to talk.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit clean claims to commercial insurance payers via Availity and CollabMD
- Bill across all SUD levels of care: detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and OP
- Apply correct CPT/HCPCS codes (e.g., H0010, H0015, H0035, H2036) and revenue codes
- Verify claim accuracy before submission — patient demographics, authorizations, dates of service, units
- Correct and resubmit rejected claims promptly
- Coordinate with Utilization Review and Admissions teams on authorizations and dates
- Post payments and reconcile EOBs (including Optum Pay remits) as needed
- Maintain clean, organized billing records in KIPU
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical billing experience (any specialty) preferred, but we’ll train the right person
- SUD/behavioral health billing experience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with UB-04 and HCFA-1500 forms a plus
- Experience with Availity, CollabMD, KIPU, and Optum Pay is a plus
- Strong attention to detail — accuracy on the front end saves weeks on the back end
- Solid Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfort with billing software
Compensation & Benefits
- $20–$22/hr based on experience
- Health insurance: 60% employer-paid, up to $600/month
- 3 weeks total paid time off annually (2 weeks vacation 1 week sick)
