Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Support design activities through Pre‑FEED, FEED, detailed design, construction support, and startup/commissioning phases.
- Create, revise, and maintain accurate engineering drawings in accordance with site standards, engineering requirements, and applicable industry codes.
- Perform work under direct supervision while collaborating frequently with multiple engineering disciplines and plant functions.
- Develop and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD in alignment with industrial facility standards and drawing conventions.
- Prepare and update drawings including P&IDs, PFDs, plot plans, general arrangements, and discipline‑specific deliverables.
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one discipline, such as piping, electrical, instrumentation, CSA (Civil/Structural/Architectural), or fixed equipment (tanks and vessels).
- Translate engineering sketches, redlines, field notes, and verbal instructions into accurate, production‑ready drawings.
- Interpret and accurately represent industrial process equipment and systems, with emphasis on piping, instrumentation, and electrical components.
- Apply ISA 5.1 Instrumentation and Control System Symbology correctly within drawings.
- Utilize basic engineering concepts, drafting standards, and drawing control practices common to industrial facilities.
- Perform field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and confirm drawing accuracy.
- Support verification and updating of drawings and records in preparation for Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and following completion of Management of Change (MOC) activities.
- Incorporate field‑verified information into as‑built documentation.
- Support the check‑out and check‑in of drawings for updates and revisions.
- Process drawing transmittals and maintain organized, traceable CAD files and records.
- Ensure all drawings meet internal drafting standards and quality expectations.
- Work closely with Process Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Project Engineering, Process Controls Engineering, Process Safety, and plant operations personnel.
- Communicate effectively with corporate support functions, external contractors, and front‑line workers.
- Proactively identify issues, ask questions, and contribute to problem‑solving discussions.
- World‑class safety performance on all assigned projects.

- Compliance with applicable codes, standards, budgets, and schedules
- Reduced field rework, design conflicts, and change orders
YOU MUST HAVE
- Associate’s degree in CAD Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience; alternatively, 5 years of relevant experience in an engineering firm or industrial manufacturing environment (chemical, petrochemical, or similar)
- Willingness to travel up to 10%, as required
- Experience with 2D AutoCAD and MicroStation, as well as 3D modeling tools
- Familiarity with Bluebeam software, Documentum, and drawing management systems (e.g., Vault)
- Proficiency in developing P&IDs and general arrangement drawings
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, standards, and symbology
- Knowledge of current construction and manufacturing practices
- AutoCAD drafting certification or related technical certifications
- Understanding of interdisciplinary workflows, schedule constraints, and deliverable requirements
- Ability to estimate task durations and manage assigned work efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Self‑starter with a results‑driven mindset and strong bias for action
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, or equivalent continuous improvement experience
