Qualifications:
- Industrial Industry Experience within steel, metal distribution, or industrial manufacturing (familiarity with raw metals like bar, sheet, plate, or tubing is highly preferred).
- Prior experience in an Inside Sales, Customer Service, Junior Buyer, Sourcing Assistant, or Production Planner, Order taking & Processing Orders.
- Comfort learning custom ERP software alongside proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and general office data entry.
- Detail-Oriented Mindset: Proven ability to accurately track order measurements, pricing, and technical specifications while consistently meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong Communication Aptitude: Exceptional written skills for heavy email correspondence paired with a professional, friendly phone presence.
Responsibilities
- Order Processing: Efficiently field, input, and process approximately 20 inbound orders per day using a proprietary ERP system.
- Multi-Channel Communication: Manage heavy email volume via Outlook (90% of correspondence) alongside phone calls and occasional walk-in clients.
- Cradle-to-Grave Tracking: Oversee the entire lifecycle of your orders from initial intake through production and final shipping delivery.
- Inventory & Sourcing Support: Coordinate directly with vendors and distributors to purchase or transfer materials when items are out of stock.
- Account Relationship Management: Learn customer buying patterns and specific product requirements to maintain a reliable, high-service reputation.
