Quality Inspector - Swing Shift

Manufacturing Quality Inspector

6-months contract -to- hire

Open to candidates for both Emeryville or Santa Clara (Preferred Emeryville)
Must be willing to work 2:30 PM - 10:30 pm

Qualifications

• AA in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology
• ASQ Certification: Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
• Lean/Six Sigma, Yellow or Green Belt
• Familiarity with precision measurement and digital metrology tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and feeler gauges
• Experience with CMM operations and manual caliper measurements for high-precision inspection
• Ability to read Blueprints and Schematics including interpretation of complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supply testers to verify voltage stability, ripple, and noise in PSUs
• Knowledge of safety standards such as UL, CE, FCC, and TUV for electronic components
• Electro-mechanical assembly and part fabrication methods

Responsibilities

• Perform CMM operations and manual inspections using calipers and precision tools to conduct visual, dimensional, and functional checks
• Approve incoming raw materials by comparing them against purchase orders and quality documentation
• Oversee the assembly line to ensure compliance with company standards and production procedures
• Identify non-conforming products, document defects in reports, and segregate faulty items using 8D or 5-Why methods
• Maintain detailed logs of inspection results and summarize rework or waste for management review
