Large distribution company headquartered in the Philadelphia area is looking to hire an experienced Staff Accountant to be a key member of the Corporate Accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the following:
- Participate in the monthly close and reporting process in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform accounting research to determine proper classification and recording of transactions
- Track budgets to actuals monthly, analyzing and researching discrepancies
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts monthly
- Identify ways to create efficiencies or automate processes
- Perform detailed analysis of accounts to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate annual audits, providing documentation, support, and explanations
- Participate in special projects
The Staff Accountant should possess the following:
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 1-4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution industry strongly preferred
- Proficient with Excel
- Self-starter with the desire to learn
- Excellent communication skills
