Carpenters – $24 - $26/hr - Multisite

The Solomon Organization has an opportunity for experienced Carpenters to join our renovations/construction team to complete renovations in the Metro Detroit Area. This is a multisite position, so you must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time year-round position. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year previous experience in a related field of carpentry, preferably home/apartment renovations. Pay commensurate with experience.

POSITION DETAILS:

To be responsible under the supervision of the Facilities Manager for all phases of apartment unit and common area rehabilitation including, but not limited to demolition of units; staging and planning of new finish installation; millwork installation; ceramic tile installation; laminate flooring installation; trim, doors, and other finish carpentry as required to deliver a finished product to the apartment preparation team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Cabinet and countertop installation
• Door slab replacement and hardware installation
• Pre-hung door installation
• Finish trim carpentry
• Ceramic and vinyl plank flooring
• Minor drywall repair and patching
• Minor electrical
• Minor plumbing and fixture installation

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work full time 40 hours per week
• 2-3 years actual hands-on experience, but willing to train the right candidate
• Ability to assess problems and solve them with a strong sense of urgency

EXPECTATIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS IN ADDITION TO THOSE LISTED ABOVE:

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Position requires bending, lifting, kneeling, twisting, and performing installations at awkward angles. Work environment may include loud noises, dust, dirt, and minor hazards.
