What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Baker (early AM hours) position at Solo Pane?
PLEASE NOTE: Base pay range is stated with tips averaging an additional $3-6 per hour.
We are a Bakery and Italian Pasticceria in downtown Bath, Maine! We produce wholesale baked goods that reach along the coast in Maine and have a retail storefront Italian pastry shop with espresso bar that serves the local community year round.
Again, starting pay is $21/hr before the additional $3-6/hr from pooled tips. We would revisit this with you after 90 days. We are looking for a 2 day per week candidate, with hours being either 10p-6a or 12a-8a. We can discuss which two days per week might work during an interview. Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience with some style of baking, high volume (production) setting ideal
- experience operating deck oven or wood-fired oven
- experience with proofing and basic starting recipes
- experience with artisanal breads and/or pastries
- basic knife and prep skills
- commitment to high standards of quality, efficiency and consistency
- willingness to learn and explore new techniques
Responsibilities:
- flexible scheduling though ability to work overnight will be requisite
- operating higher-volume technical baking equipment
- day-to-day production without constant oversight
- ability to communicate well and work on a small but tight team
- strong math for volume recipes
- strong time management skills for multitasking baking projects, without sacrificing precise timing on bakes
- this job is a physically demanding position that involves bending, lifting (up to 50lbs), twisting, squatting and reaching
