Overview

A rapidly growing organization in the construction and data center infrastructure space is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee field-based installation projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact data center builds while contributing to a fast-paced, expanding team environment.

The position is ideally based in Salt Lake City, Utah, but remote candidates will be considered, particularly those located near major construction hubs. Travel is required to support active job sites.


Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for leading construction and installation projects from initiation through completion. This includes managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

This is a hands-on role suited for candidates with direct experience in construction environments, particularly those involving data centers or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage overall project execution, including budget, schedule, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communication and issue resolution
  • Oversee RFIs, change orders, submittals, and project documentation
  • Monitor field progress and support site teams to ensure timely execution
  • Track project milestones and proactively address risks or delays
  • Ensure alignment with customer expectations, project scope, and quality standards
  • Maintain clear communication across stakeholders, including clients and field personnel
  • Support trade coordination and ensure readiness for installation activities
  • Drive project profitability and cost control
  • Travel to job sites (approximately 25–50%) to support active projects

Project Scope
  • Large-scale data center construction projects
  • Installation of infrastructure systems, including:
    • Equipment racking systems
    • Containment solutions (data hall enclosures)
    • Floor grid systems and related finishing work
  • Typical project duration ranges from 6 to 12 months per site

Qualifications & Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction project management, field coordination, or installation management
  • Proven experience working with general contractors and/or subcontractors
  • Strong background in field-based construction environments (required)
  • Experience with data centers, commercial construction, or industrial projects preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
  • Experience managing RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
  • Familiarity with project scheduling and resource planning

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Combination of office-based and active construction site work
  • Regular site visits involving walking, standing, and navigating uneven terrain
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
