What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Counselor (School Based in Burke County) position at Solid Foundations Counseling Center?
At Solid Foundations Counseling Center, we are dedicated to providing mental health and substance abuse services to everyone in need – ensuring that everyone has the right to services. We have a diverse staff providing services to children and adults, couples and families to help strengthen families and our communities. The Center offers individual, couples, families and group counseling opportunities.
We are currently looking for a counselor that is provisionally or fully licensed (LMFT, LCMHC, LCSW) to provide counseling to children during school hours in Burke County. The counselor would travel to different schools working with children who have behavioral and mental health needs.
Job Responsibilites include:
- Complete comprehensive clinical assessments
- Provide individual, group, couples, or family sessions as needed
- Maintain documentation for all clients (treatment plans, progress notes, letters to collaterals, etc.)
- Provide 24/7 crisis response to the clients on your caseload
- Develop and maintain contacts with collaterals
- Helping us identify gaps in services and needs that are not being met and developing programs to meet those needs

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social work, counseling, psychology
- MUST possess either a provisional or full license in the state of North Carolina as a LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.
- Preference will be given if you are currently credentialed with Medicaid
