Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a 12-bed Stepdown/Med-Surg Unit (Candler 4N) with nurse-patient ratios of 1:4-5 depending on patient acuity
- Administer and titrate set-rate drips as necessary
- Perform all lab draws independently (no phlebotomy team)
- Deliver care utilizing telemetry technology; interpreting telemetry strips is handled off-unit
- Collaborate within a team that includes nurse aides and a charge nurse who maintains an active assignment
- Participate in unit-specific orientation including computer training and preceptor-guided shifts
- Maintain adherence to navy scrubs dress code and work a schedule that includes every other weekend and holidays, with self-scheduling options
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license with minimum 2 years' hospital experience in a similar size and acuity setting
- Successful completion of at least one prior travel nursing contract
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- Proficient telemetry skills and comfort with Med-Surg and Stepdown nursing care
- Ability to work within a 100-mile radius restriction (no local candidates)
