Schedule/Hours:
- Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30a–3:00p (8-hour preferred) or 6:30a–5:00p (10-hour)
- Shift start may be as early as 5:30a depending on surgical caseload
- On-call: On a six-week rotation, approximately 10-12 call shifts (1-2 weekdays and 1-2 weekends)
- 30-minute call response; call rooms available
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license (active and in good standing, or compact state)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications (PALS, CNOR, and SGNA preferred)
- At least 2 years of CVOR/cardiac OR nursing experience and 1-2 years of general surgical experience
- Dysrhythmia Exam (support provided)
- Previous travel assignment experience preferred
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in a surgical environment
- Adept at adapting to fast-paced, high-acuity situations and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-operative patient care using the nursing process
- Circulate CVOR and general procedures, including CABG, TAVRs, VATs, windows, and open general surgeries
- Operate equipment, anticipate surgical team needs, maintain sterile field, and keep accurate records
- Collaborate across departments for optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement, teaching, and professional development initiatives
