Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized nursing care to patients in the stepdown unit in accordance with established protocols and care plans
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, promptly identifying any changes in patient status
- Administer medications and treatments, ensuring accuracy and patient safety
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff
- Document patient assessments, nursing interventions, and outcomes in medical records
- Educate patients and families regarding ongoing care needs and discharge instructions
- Participate in shift handoffs and contribute to ongoing improvement of patient care processes
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Previous experience in a stepdown, progressive care, or similar high-acuity nursing environment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard nursing documentation practices
