Position Details
- Location: Niles, OH (local candidates will not be considered)
- Unit: 17-bed Intermediate Telemetry (10 current openings)
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio with dedicated PCA support
- Schedule: Days and nights with charge nurse responsibilities on each shift
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Certification Requirements: Current RN license (compact state eligible), BLS, ACLS, Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide provided)
- Specialty Skills: Cardiac telemetry monitoring including waveform interpretation, managing drips such as heparin and cardizem, and care of lines, chest tubes, and wound vacs
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on data collection and patient needs
- Interpret telemetry strips and collaborate with the care team for interventions
- Safely administer medications and monitor responses, including critical care drips
- Coordinate patient care across hospital departments, serving as the communication hub for families and interdisciplinary teams
- Utilize nursing judgment to anticipate changes in patient conditions and respond effectively in emergencies
- Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and psychosocial support in alignment with best practices
- Minimum 1 year RN experience with 6 months acute care preferred
- Comfort with hemodynamic monitoring, advanced respiratory modalities, and multi-system patient care
- Prefer certifications such as CCRN, PCCN, or NIH Stroke Certification
- EPIC EHR proficiency advantageous but not mandatory
