An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide specialized care within a 17-bed Intermediate Telemetry Unit in Canfield, OH. This position focuses on caring for patients with primarily cardiac conditions such as atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and open-heart surgery, as well as those with respiratory, renal, stroke/TIA, post-operative, and stepdown ICU transfer needs.
This contract role requires a commitment of 13 weeks and is not open to local candidates. The position necessitates current RN licensure (compact or state-specific), as well as BLS and ACLS certification. Dysrhythmia exam completion is mandatory, with study materials available. A minimum of one year RN experience is required, with acute care hospital experience preferred. Advanced certifications such as CCRN, PCCN, and NIH Stroke Certification are advantageous but not required.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and developing individualized plans of care
- Administering medications and managing drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, insulin, and heart failure drips
- Interpreting telemetry strips and waveform monitors to assess cardiac rhythms
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and advocate for patient safety
- Providing patient and family education and support during critical and complex care situations
- Managing acute patient needs including multi-system organ failure and trauma
- Current RN license and BLS/ACLS certification
- Experience interpreting cardiac telemetry and managing complex cardiac patients
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond proactively to changing patient conditions
- Familiarity with EPIC EHR preferred
- Critical Care Course advantageous
