Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction and support to an average caseload of 22 students per teacher with visual impairments
- Develop and implement educational plans tailored to the needs of visually impaired students
- Collaborate with school staff and families to facilitate student learning and accessibility
- Conduct student assessments and maintain progress documentation
- Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Education certification requirements and school policies
- Active Virginia DOE Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a K-12 setting preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 22 students effectively
- Complete required clearances including Virginia Department of Social Services check and TB test promptly
- Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with educators and families
- This position is based in the Washington DC area, approximately 45 minutes south of DC
- Full-time position with 37.5 hours per week
- Contract duration: Immediate start through May 29, 2026
- On-site only; no remote or hybrid options
