A school near Middletown, Delaware, is seeking a qualified professional to serve as an itinerant Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This contract position supports students ranging from preschool through high school, providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique communication and learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across multiple school sites.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and student IEPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive support.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Utilize appropriate technology and resources to enhance learning experiences.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development relevant to Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid Delaware teaching license in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education is required.
• Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a range of ages (preschool through high school) is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple site visits efficiently as an itinerant teacher.
  
  

Schedule

• Full-time contract position, 37.5 hours per week.
• Typical hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.
