Staff Pharmacist | Minneapolis, Minnesota

A premier pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to fill a 13-week contract position in the Minneapolis area. This role is prioritized to backfill a recent vacancy and requires immediate availability. Flexibility in shift hours is essential to meet the needs of the pharmacy.

Schedule/Hours

• Rotate shifts between 9:30 AM6:00 PM, 10:00 AM6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM8:30 PM
• Weekend rotations on Saturday and Sunday
  
  

Responsibilities

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications
• Monitor patient medication adherence and potential overuse patterns
• Ensure all medication dispensing complies with legal regulations
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records for all patient files
• Counsel patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer queries
• Provide additional health services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications for both external and internal use as needed
• Prepare sterile solutions following established procedures
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and staff members
• Manage inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related patient concerns
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota pharmacist license in-hand
• Pharmacy experience preferred; retail pharmacists will be considered and trained
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team
• Flexibility and reliability to accommodate rotating shifts and weekend work
