LTC Staff Pharmacist | Burnsville, Minnesota

Provide expert pharmaceutical care within a long-term care setting, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through accurate dispensing and patient consultation. This 13-week contract opportunity offers a dynamic schedule that requires flexibility, including weekend rotations, to support comprehensive medication management.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while monitoring patient compliance and preventing overuse.
• Ensure all medications are stored and dispensed following legal and safety guidelines.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Provide thorough medication counseling, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use and handling of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions in compliance with established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Minnesota pharmacist license in-hand.
• Experience in retail pharmacy is welcomed; training can be provided.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to counsel patients effectively.
• Ability to work flexible shifts between 9:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including rotating weekends.

Schedule

• Varied shifts: 9:30 AM6:00 PM, 10:00 AM6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM8:30 PM.
• Weekend rotation required.
