Speech Therapist Assistant in Plainfield, IL

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) credentials to support students in a school setting. The role is based in Plainfield, IL, and is a contract position designed for professionals passionate about making a difference in young learners communication skills.

Scheduled Hours

• Onsite work from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday during the school year
• Extended School Year (ESY) hours from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday in June
• School year concludes on May 29th
• ESY programming runs from June 1 to June 29
• The following school year begins August 13th
  
  

Caseload And Students

• Serving students from kindergarten through 6th grade
• Currently managing five classrooms, each with a maximum of six students
• Present enrollment is 22 students with potential for two additional students before year end
  
  

Responsibilities

• Deliver speech and language therapy services tailored to K-6 student needs
• Collaborate with educators and staff to implement effective communication strategies
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress
• Assist with assessments and treatment plans under the supervision of licensed SLPs (for SLPA roles)
• Participate in ESY programming to continue student support during summer sessions
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid SLPA certification, or SLP credentials including CFY or CCC
• Experience working with pediatric populations in educational settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with school teams
• Commitment to supporting students communication development and educational success
