A contract position is available for certified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to support school districts in Southeast Florida, focusing on evaluation services with an emphasis on autism assessments. This role requires dedication to helping schools address evaluation backlogs and ensuring compliance with student needs.
Location:
- Primary Sites: Oak Hammock K-8 in Port St. Lucie, FL and CA Moore K-7 & FK Sweet Elementary in Fort Pierce, FL
- Oak Hammock: 2 days per week; full-time SLP and SLPA onsite support; includes Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) cluster site
- CA Moore and FK Sweet: Full-time schedule split between two schools or part-time options available; FK Sweet includes an ASD unit, CA Moore does not have self-contained units
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations, with a priority on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop appropriate intervention plans
- Assist in managing caseloads efficiently to support the district’s catch-up efforts
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district policies
Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology licensure
- Experience completing evaluations for students with autism preferred
- Ability to obtain required fingerprint clearance; potential for utilizing Department of Health records to avoid re-fingerprinting
- Strong communication and organizational skills essential
