A contract opportunity is available for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) in Vero Beach, FL, supporting a school district along the Southeast Florida Coast. This role primarily focuses on conducting evaluations, with an emphasis on helping the district manage a backlog of assessments. Experience working with Autism spectrum students is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations, prioritizing Autism-related assessments.
- Collaborate with school staff to support students' communication needs.
- Manage caseloads efficiently across assigned schools.
- Maintain compliance with licensing and school district requirements.
Locations and Scheduling Options:
- Oak Hammock K-8 (Port St. Lucie, FL): 2 days/week, onsite; working alongside 1 full-time SLP and 1 SLPA in a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) cluster site.
- CA Moore K-7 (Ft. Pierce, FL): 2 days/week; no self-contained units.
- FK Sweet Elementary (Ft. Pierce, FL): 3 days/week; includes 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) unit.Candidates may opt for full-time coverage across CA Moore and FK Sweet or split assignments for part-time work.
Qualifications:
- Active SLP licensure is required.
- Clearance of fingerprints is mandatory; district may accept Department of Health prints.
- Prior experience with Autism evaluations is strongly preferred.
- Availability for immediate start through June 2, 2026.
