Special Education Teacher in Bethlehem, PA

Special Education teaching opportunities are available for the Extended School Year (ESY) program within Bucks County, PA, serving students with moderate to severe learning needs. These contract roles are essential to support students during the summer months and contribute to their continued growth and development.

Location: Multiple school sites in Bucks County, including Levittown and Quakertown, PA. Placement will consider proximity to candidates residence (within 35 minutes) and individual skills aligned with student needs.

Position Details

• Duration: June 23, 2026 July 30, 2026
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday; classroom hours from 8:30am to 3:00pm; student instructional time from 9:00am to 2:30pm
• Orientation: June 23-25, 2026 (8:30am3:00pm)
• Caseload and assignments will be finalized in late May or early June, with efforts to honor requests for grade level or classroom type wherever possible.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe special education needs consistent with PA DOE standards
• Implement IEP goals and behavioral plans collaboratively with support staff and families
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
• Participate in orientation and preparation sessions prior to student instruction
  
  

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification required
• For those with Emergency Permits, enrollment in an approved certification program is mandatory
• Minimum one-year hiatus required if previously employed by this client through another agency
• Reliable transportation and residence within 35 minutes of assigned school site
• Commitment to full ESY schedule and demonstration of professional reliability and punctuality
• Ability to work effectively with populations exhibiting behaviors associated with moderate to severe needs
