A school district in the Detroit metro area is seeking a skilled and student-focused Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time school-based opportunity. This position offers the chance to support students in developing the functional and motor skills necessary for success in the classroom and throughout daily school activities.

Position Details:

Location: Detroit metro area, Michigan
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract
Setting: School-Based (K–12)
Schedule: Monday–Friday during school hours
Caseload: Based on district needs and candidate experience

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver occupational therapy services aligned with student IEP goals and individualized needs
Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify areas of need and support planning
Develop and implement treatment plans that encourage student participation and independence
Support areas including fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-help skills, and functional classroom performance
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required compliance documentation

Qualifications:

Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Active Michigan Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred but not required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
