Responsibilities Include
- Delivering both direct and consultative occupational therapy services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conducting thorough evaluations and assessments to determine each student’s specific needs
- Creating and implementing tailored treatment plans to support educational and functional goals
- Working closely with teachers, special education personnel, and families to promote student progress
- Keeping detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with all district and state requirements
- Actively participating in IEP meetings and collaborating on student goal setting
- Promoting growth in fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and independent functioning to maximize classroom participation
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid Virginia OT license (or eligibility to secure one promptly)
- NBCOT certification
- School-based experience is a plus, though enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply
