School-Based Physical Therapist - Des Plaines, IL

Physical Therapists are needed for a summer program at a special education school located in Des Plaines, IL. This is an excellent contract opportunity for qualified PTs specializing in school settings, serving students from early childhood through 12th grade. The engagement is for an Extended School Year (ESY) program at a well-established special education cooperative in the area.

• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:15 AM 12:15 PM (First and last day finish at 3:15 PM)
• Students Served: Early childhood through 12th grade with special education needs

Qualifications And Requirements

• Valid Illinois Physical Therapist license (PT license only; PTA not accepted)
• License verification required (provide screenshot and verify online)
• Experience working in school or pediatric settings preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to commit to the full ESY contract period and scheduled hours
  
  

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services tailored to students with special education needs
• Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators and therapists, to support student progress
• Maintain documentation and comply with school and state guidelines
• Participate in training and orientation for the ESY program as required
