Pharmacy Tech - Long Beach, California

This opportunity is for a licensed Pharmacy Technician experienced in inpatient settings, focusing on IV preparation and Pyxis automation. The role is located in Long Beach, CA, with a travel assignment based in Gardena, CA, on a night shift schedule.

Location:

Schedule

• Night shift from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 5 on, 5 off schedule with 10-hour shifts
  
  

Duration

• 8 to 13 weeks
  
  

Responsibilities

• Prepare intravenous medications (IVs), IV piggybacks (IVPBs), and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs)
• Fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately
• Answer telephone inquiries related to pharmacy services
• Deliver medications to various nursing units promptly
• Utilize order entry systems, specifically trained in Allscripts/Paragon
• Maintain compliance with hospital pharmacy procedures and safety standards
  
  

Qualifications/Desired Experience

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient hospital setting
• Skilled in compounding IV medications and managing Pyxis systems
• Familiarity with automated dispensing cabinets and order entry software
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently during night shifts
