Per Diem Staff Pharmacist | Citrus Heights, California

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1 years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Pharmacy professionals are needed to provide per diem staffing support in various California locations, including Sacramento, Bay Area/North Bay, and Northern California regions such as Redding and Chico. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists seeking flexible, part-time work to supplement their current schedule by covering shifts in retail pharmacy settings.

Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmaceutical care and dispense medications accurately in retail pharmacy stores.
• Open and close the pharmacy following established procedures.
• Manage and supervise pharmacy technicians during shifts.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Administer immunizations as certified.
• Utilize McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) software for prescription processing and inventory management.
• Travel to different store locations within the assigned areas as required for shift coverage.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Pharmacist license in California.
• Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience.
• Experience with pharmacy opening and closing procedures.
• Proven ability to manage and lead pharmacy technicians effectively.
• Immunization certification required.
• Comfortable commuting within and around the designated areas, with mileage reimbursement available for travel exceeding 30 miles one way.
• Familiarity with McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) software preferred.

Location:

• Positions available across Sacramento (3-4 openings), Bay Area/North Bay (2 openings), and Northern California including Redding and Chico (2 openings).

Schedule/Hours:

• Per diem, coverage on an as-needed basis.
• Typically 1-2 shifts per week across the noted markets.
• Flexibility to pick up shifts is essential.
