Occupational Therapist School Setting - Macomb, MI

A part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) position is available for the 2026/2027 school year in Macomb, MI. This contract role offers approximately 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling between 9 AM and 3 PM to accommodate your availability.

About

In this role, you will provide direct OT services to a caseload of about 25 students across three school buildings. The distribution of students includes:

• 5 students at the early education building
• 4 students in kindergarten through first grade
• 10 students in grades 2 through 6
• 1 student at the high school level
  
  

Most of the students require support primarily with fine motor and sensory needs. Therapy sessions typically range from 15 to 30 minutes, delivered 1 to 4 times per month per student.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Providing direct OT minutes according to students individual plans
• Conducting assessments to establish and update student goals
• Writing detailed reports to document progress and recommendations
• Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to collaborate with educators and families
  
  

Qualifications And Experience Desired

• Valid Occupational Therapy license with a focus on school-based practice
• Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly within educational settings
• Knowledge in fine motor skill development and sensory integration
• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage caseload and collaborate effectively
